Locally Grown, Veteran Owned waste hauler is looking for a fun, energetic person to join our team. We are a fast-paced company with an immediate opening for an experienced Diesel Maintenance Mechanic.

The successful candidate will be performing fleet maintenance and basic repairs on trucks and equipment. A CDL license is a big plus, but not required. Currently, we have approximately 50+ trucks fleet and have heavy equipment that needs to be maintained. Our fleet includes Kenworth, Freightliner, and Peterbilt trucks

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Daily maintenance services of truck fleet 
• Basic repairs on trucks and equipment 
• Tire maintenance 
• Ability to perform basic services, such as oil changes, on trucks and equipment 
• Will work collaboratively with the other shop mechanics.  
• May require after-hours/weekend work to ensure that the fleet is running. 

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, lifting, and occasional throwing 
• Must be able to lift up to 51 pounds at times. 
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions at times. 
• Tolerate strong odors at times.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
• Diesel Maintenance Mechanic experience required

Candidate must have a Class A or B CDL, clean driving record and be able to pass a pre-employment screening, which includes previous employer inquiries, drug and alcohol testing, and MVR records.

Job Summary:
The truck operator will be responsible for the operation of Roll-Off trucks.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Performs vehicle safety and operation in pre-checks and post-checks of route.
• Drives varied routes daily
• Collects materials in Roll-off containers and disposes in proper sites such as the landfill or recycling centers
• Notifies dispatchers and/or supervisors of delays, unsafe sites, accidents, breakdowns, or other issues.
• Operates machinery to hoist or compress refuse.
• Cleans and inspects vehicles at the end of the day.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to adhere to safety standards and guidelines.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Class A or B Driver’s License
• Commercial driving: 1 year (Preferred)

Additional Requirements:

• Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.

Physical Requirements:

• Cleans and post-check inspection of vehicles at the end of the day.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will be fabricating and welding on roll-off boxes, garbage dumpsters, roll-off trucks, garbage trucks and other equipment associated with waste hauling company; assembling dumpsters/containers

Working along side the mechanics to maintain all equipment of company. Candidate must display excellent time management skills and close attention to detail.
